A little about my yoga journey…
It all starts with my grandparents. They became yoga teachers in the 1980s in Switzerland (just as yoga spread in the West). They lead classes, retreats, and teacher training, reaching an audience from France and Switzerland. They would teach me how to breathe and short sequences. I quickly fell in love with yoga. I loved getting in tune with my body, the workout, the connection to mind and body, and of course the relaxing feeling of savasana.
In my teenage years, I would join my mother’s private cancer classes and the weekly Teen Yoga at my local yoga studio. I found myself in yoga. Calm, happy, and ready to explore. I kept a routine of practice through high school, college, and graduate school as I connected with the principle of living in the present moment and the benefits of yoga for physical and mental health. Being an Occupational Therapist, I knew the benefits of yoga overlapped with other services I trained to offer. Fast forward to now. Here to share how OT and Yoga work hand in hand.
